The Honest Kitchen Unveils World’s First 100% Human Grade Dry Food
The human grade pet food company reinvents dry food with their nutrient-dense, minimally processed,100 percent human grade Whole Food Clusters
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Honest Kitchen, maker of all-natural pet foods, treats, toppers and supplements, announces the release of Whole Food Clusters, the world's first 100 percent human grade dry food. Whole Food Clusters boast single-source protein recipes—thoughtfully sourced chicken, beef or turkey—containing no meat meals, GMO ingredients, fillers, artificial flavors or by-products.
"When we set out to make a ready-to-eat food, we had high standards," said The Honest Kitchen’s Founder and Chief Integrity Officer, Lucy Postins. "It had to be 100 percent human grade, made with whole foods, super tasty and nutritious, and all at an accessible price point."
To produce Whole Food Clusters, The Honest Kitchen built their own production line in a human food facility and invented a propriety way of making the food, called MadeHonest™. The game-changing process involves first mixing whole foods in small batches, then cold pressing into clusters. Each cluster is then slow roasted and gently dehydrated to protect the nutrients, keeping the food vibrant, colorful and less processed than conventional kibble that’s extruded at high temperatures. This method keeps beneficial antioxidants from ingredients like kale, pumpkin and carrots in each bite-sized cluster.
The Honest Kitchen was founded in 2002 by Lucy and Charlie Postins, who created a line of dehydrated complete and balanced foods. In 2004, The Honest Kitchen was issued a statement of no objection from the FDA and became the first pet food to legally state that the foods were “Human Grade.” From the ingredients in each recipe, to the food production itself, every Honest Kitchen meal meets the same quality standards as food for humans.
